Imagery can range from something as simple as a daydream to something as complex and purposeful as guided kinesthetic and visual imagery by an athlete for a sport-specific skill of their interest from both internal and external perspectives (Gould & Weinberg, 2007). However, all mental imagery is not created equal. Mental imagery is a daily component of most people’s every day lives (Galton, 1880 Betts, 1909 Doob, 1972 Marks, 1972, 1999, as cited in Thomas, 2007).
